One the seven cooperative principles is concern for community (to see all seven of the principles, click below.) Which is why PRO Co-op, along with our partners at Land O’Lakes and CHS, have donated money to build swimming pools at Scobey and Glasgow, and to help fund the movie theatre in Scobey. Our employees are encouraged to coach local youth sports teams, volunteer as local fire fighters and EMTs and to join the boards of churches, hospitals and golf courses. Making the communities we serve better places to live is good for everyone—including those who grow our food.
Just after harvest is an ideal time to check the nutrient content, pH and organic matter status of your soil. It doesn’t take a large number of samples to give you a snapshot of an entire field. If you’d like to drill down a little deeper, or are interested in variable-rate fertilizer application, we’ll pull more samples, so we can divide your fields into high-producing and lower-producing “zones.” Applying fertilizer by the zone allows you to feed your most productive acres, while perhaps cutting back on less productive soils. Talk to your local PRO Co-op field agronomist today, or call Luke Dighans: 406-783-8549.
